Transactions of the Swedenborg Society Number Two is all about Swedenborg’s philosophical explorations of the soul. It is based on a lecture given by Harold Gardiner, M.S., F.R.C.S., at the Society on Swedenborg’s Birthday Celebration on the 29th of January 1936. He discussed Swedenborg’s explorations of the physical body in terms of the relationship between the body and soul.
“He recognised that organs such as the spleen and other glands without obvious secretions profoundly affected the composition of the blood and this is, as far as we know, the first suggestion of the modern science of Endocrinology”.
Another way in which Swedenborg presaged modern science!
