The Society held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 27 June, where we showed our members the shortlisted flag designs for the final time. We were overwhelmed by entries for our flag design competition, and have been extremely impressed by the quality of designs submitted, from all over the world. All ten shortlisted designs, (which have been available to view on our blog since 20 June), received positive feedback and encouraged much discussion; but it proved extremely difficult to get a consensus of opinion among our members and trustees. We were therefore unable to pick a single winning design.
We have instead introduced a KNOCKOUT STAGE to the flag competition, narrowing down the current shortlist to a final shortlist of 4 designs. The final shortlist features works by: Jonas Wallberg & Agneta Wickenberg; Jefferson Small; Christina Mitrentse & Michael Hampton; and Simon Barker. This final shortlist will be subject to a a wider vote among our membership and mailing list, before we announce the winner in one month’s time. This wordpress page contains extra information about each flag and details of how to vote. Please click on each image for larger format and to read the artists’ explanations of their designs. Anyone is welcome to comment on the blog page, but only members of the Swedenborg Society, those on our mailing list or followers on facebook / wordpress can vote for their favourite design.
If you are a member of the Society or on our mailing list, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, with your favourite design in the subject line of the email. You can also register your vote via the poll below (we can see if you’ve voted twice!). Thanks again to everyone who submitted a design. We look forward to finally announcing the winner, and to raising the new flag in the autumn!
