Apocalypse of John Card Set | Event

Thursday 18 September 2014. |  11am to 4pm.

FREE ENTRY. TEA AND COFFEE WILL BE SERVED.

The Swedenborg Society is an entirely independent academic publisher, library, event space and bookshop. Since its very beginning, however, it has kept informal ties with other Swedenborgian organizations, both ecclesiastic and academic. One of the oldest and most significant of such organisations is the General Conference of the New Church. Founded in the late eighteenth century, the General Conference included several founders of the Swedenborg Society amongst its early members, as well as such notable figures as William Blake. This organization is still very much in existence today, with churches situated throughout the British Isles, and they will be hosting a day event in Swedenborg Hall on Thursday the 18th of September to celebrate the launch of a new set of cards looking at ways of reflecting on the Book of Revelation. There will be three speakers on the day: Michael Stanley, Clifford Curry and Helen Brown. There will also be a series of 26 colour illustrations by G R Smith and several books available for sale. If you would like to know more about General Conference of the New Church and the Apocalypse of John card set please visit this link. A PDF flyer for the event can be downloaded from here: http://www.spiritualfriends.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Launch-Event.pdf
