| MARCH 19 | 6.30 | BOOK LAUNCH AND TALK BY WILLIAM ROWLANDSON | MUSIC | BUFFET | WINE |
On Thursday March 19th the Swedenborg Society will open its doors for the launch of Imaginal Landscapes: reflections on the mystical visions of Jorge Luis Borges and Emanuel Swedenborg by Dr William Rowlandson. One of the world’s leading scholars on Borges—and certainly the leading scholar of Borges’s interest in Swedenborg—William is Senior lecturer in Hispanic Studies at the University of Kent. He has written for the Guardian, and previously published a monograph study on Swedenborg and Borges in 2013.
Beautifully written, and steeped in a wonderful sense of curiosity, Imaginal Landscapes also contains a Foreword by Gary Lachman, author of Discovering Swedenborg and ex-bass player from Blondie. Both William and Gary will be at the launch and William will sign copies and talk of his work on Borges and Swedenborg. There will be a short piano recital by the talented Andrew Kwan and a free buffet with wine. The bookshop will also be open, with a 10% discount on all titles.
For those who would like to come to the launch please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org For those of you who can’t make the event but would like to purchase a copy of the book please visit http://www.swedenborg.org.uk/bookshop/new_releases/imaginal_landscapes
We look forward to see you there!
